Setting Up and Joining Conversations

The Bearish OS Messaging Center provides users with a straightforward way to set up and join conversations, ensuring that teams and individuals can communicate seamlessly and efficiently. Whether initiating a one-on-one chat, creating a group discussion, or joining an existing channel, Bearish OS makes it easy to connect.


1. Setting Up One-on-One Chats

To start a private conversation with another user:

  • Navigate to the Messaging Center.
  • Select the "New Chat" button.
  • Search for the user by their name, email, or username using the search bar.
  • Once selected, type your message in the chat box and hit Send.
  • The conversation will automatically update in real-time, allowing for seamless communication.

2. Creating Group Chats

For team discussions involving multiple users, follow these steps:

  • Click on the "New Group Chat" option.
  • Name your group chat and provide a short description if needed.
  • Add participants by searching their names or selecting from your contacts list.
  • Once the group is set up, you can start sending messages.
  • Group chats support rich text, file sharing, @mentions, and real-time updates for all participants.

3. Joining Existing Channels

Channels are structured conversations designed for larger teams or projects:

  • To join an existing channel, navigate to the "Channels" section.
  • Browse the available channels or use the search function to find a specific channel by name or topic.
  • Click on the "Join" button to become a part of the conversation.
  • You can start participating immediately, with access to all the past discussions, shared files, and pinned messages within the channel.

4. Inviting Others to Conversations

For both group chats and channels, you can invite others by sharing a unique invite link or adding them directly:

  • To generate an invite link, click on the "Share Link" option available in the chat or channel settings.
  • Share the link with other users via chat, email, or any other communication method.
  • They can click the link to join the chat or channel immediately.

5. Scheduled Conversations

Bearish OS Messaging Center allows you to schedule conversations:

  • When creating a new chat, group, or channel, you can set a scheduled time for the conversation to start.
  • Scheduled chats will notify all participants in advance and initiate the conversation automatically at the specified time.

With these tools, setting up and joining conversations in Bearish OS is quick, intuitive, and customizable to fit the needs of individuals, teams, and larger organizations.
