The Bear Trax Payroll System is designed to handle the complexities of processing payments for different types of employees, ensuring it scales to meet enterprise needs. While user access to the payroll system is not yet enabled, the infrastructure is fully developed to handle payroll processes, deductions, and payment methods once it is activated.

The system is designed to process payroll data based on the employee types, data from time and attendance tracking, and approved expenses. The payroll system in Bear Trax ensures that all relevant employee details are accounted for, including salary, wages, time-off, and expenses.

Key Features:

  1. Employee Types:

    • Full Contract Employees: Salaried employees with fixed pay at regular intervals.
    • Part-Time Employees: Pro-rated salaries or hourly wages based on hours worked.
    • Hourly Employees: Paid based on total worked hours, including overtime when applicable.
    • Independent Contractors: Payments based on contracts or invoiced amounts, with no taxes deducted by Bear Trax.
  2. Data Integration:

    • Time and Attendance: Automatically pulls hours worked, PTO, sick days, and overtime from Bear Trax's Time and Attendance system.
    • Expenses: Approved expenses from the Employee Expenses system are added to the payroll for reimbursement.
  3. Payroll Calculation:

    • Includes salary, wages, overtime, bonuses, and expenses.
    • Deductions for taxes, retirement contributions, health insurance, and other benefits.
    • Approval flow for manual adjustments or payroll changes.
  4. Payment Methods:

    • While not yet available to users, the payroll system supports direct deposit and contractor payments via bank transfer or check.
  5. Validation and Final Review:

    • Payroll is reviewed by Admins or Payroll Managers before finalization.
    • Once approved, payments are queued for distribution (without user access at this time).

The Bear Trax Payroll System is enterprise-ready, built for scalability, and designed to handle all aspects of employee compensation, ensuring seamless integration with time tracking and expenses while maintaining compliance with tax and benefit regulations.
