In the Bearish OS Calendar Center, creating and scheduling events is designed to be both powerful and flexible. Users can create meetings, tasks, appointments, and reminders with rich customization options, making it easy to keep track of personal and team schedules.

Creating an Event

To create an event, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Calendar Center:
    • From the Bearish OS dashboard, open the Calendar Center.
  2. Click on a Date or Time Slot:
    • In the calendar view, click on a date or a specific time slot (if in day or week view) to open the event creation popup.
  3. Event Details: Fill in the event details:
    • Event Name: Give your event a meaningful title (e.g., "Project Review Meeting" or "Client Call").
    • Date & Time: Select the start and end time, and choose whether it's an all-day event.
    • Time Zone: The event will default to your calendar’s time zone but can be adjusted to accommodate guests in other time zones.
    • Icon & Color: Choose an event icon and color to visually differentiate it from other events.

Event Customization

Bearish OS offers various customization options to enhance your events:

  1. Event Type:
    • Select the type of event (Meeting, Appointment, Reminder, Bill, Task, etc.). Each type can be displayed differently in the calendar view.
  2. Location & Video Integration:
    • Physical Location: Add a location for in-person meetings using the integrated maps API.
    • Video Meeting Link: Choose a video platform (e.g., Bearish OS Video Call, Zoom, Microsoft Teams) or paste a custom video link. Video integration is set to evolve in future updates to automatically generate links.
  3. Event Description:
    • Add a detailed description of the event, including objectives, notes, or agendas.
  4. Guests:
    • Invite participants by entering their email addresses or selecting them from the contact list. Each guest will receive an email invitation with event details.
  5. Repeat & Recurrence Options:
    • Set up recurring events with flexible intervals such as daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, or custom schedules.
    • For custom recurrences, you can specify rules like repeating every “x” days or months until a specific date.

Scheduling with Conflict Detection

When scheduling an event, Bearish OS checks for potential conflicts with other events marked as “Busy.” The system will automatically suggest alternative times if a conflict is detected.

  • Propose Multiple Times: You can propose up to three alternate times for guests to choose from. If a conflict arises with one of the proposed times, it will be removed automatically, leaving the other available options.

Guest Management & Invitations

Once an event is created, Bearish OS sends invitations to all guests with details, including alternate times if available. Guests can:

  • Accept, decline, or propose an alternate time.
  • Add the event to their personal calendars via the attached ICS or iCal files.
  • Confirm their attendance directly via the Bearish OS event URL, where their acceptance is logged in real-time.

Event Notifications & Reminders

Bearish OS provides a robust notification system:

  • Users can select reminders to be sent via email at specific times before the event (e.g., 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day before).
  • Multiple Reminders: Set up to two different reminders per event.
  • Reminders also trigger notifications within the Bearish OS app via a global snackbar alert.

Event History & Logs

For transparency and accountability, all changes made to the event (such as edits to the time, description, or guest list) are logged and can be reviewed in the event’s history. This is particularly useful for tracking updates to recurring events or when managing larger meetings.

The Bearish OS Calendar Center ensures that scheduling is flexible and intuitive, allowing you to create events that meet your exact needs while keeping all your attendees in sync.
